Synopsis

My father picked up a camcorder only once in his life. Thirty years later, he asked me to digitise the VHS material he filmed. I wondered what he remembered. Driven by an impulse to rethink and rewatch personal archive footage, this film explores memory and its relationship to documentation and non-institutional archive practices. By connecting politics with intimate spaces, it questions both the influence of war on private archives and the role of gardens as sites of new beginnings.

Biography and Films

Karla Crnčević is a dramatist and filmmaker exploring the politics of images and sound through various formats and work conditions. Her video work has been exhibited in various countries. She is currently taking a master’s course at the Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola in San Sebastian.
