Artistic Differences

Professional Activities

Artistic Differences is a monthly sequence of interlocking events—online film programmes and study groups, along with physical screenings and public dialogues—bringing a diverse, international audience on a journey to many places and new contexts, welcoming many different films, voices, ideas and visions.

Since 2002, this drifting hybrid cineclub, set up by UnionDocs and cocurated with programmers Cíntia Gil, Christopher Allen and Jenny Miller, has run sessions in London, Taipei, Prizren, Berlin, Guadalajara (Mexico) and Mexico City.

To mark l’Alternativa’s 30th anniversary, we shall be rescreening Agustina Comedi’s feature El silencio es un cuerpo que cae before splitting up into small, self-organised groups to debate some of the issues raised by the film, moderated by Cíntia Gil. The idea is to make room for brave questions and candid responses to challenging documentary art by inviting the voices of the audience to the stage of a public dialogue after taking time to think together.

  • Wednesday 15 November, 6.30 pm to 8.30 pm
