Green Managers in Independent Filmmaking

In recent years, public organisations have incorporated environmental criteria into their production support programmes, which requires professionals in the audiovisual sector to integrate sustainability considerations into their projects. The production team plays a key role in successfully implementing environmental impact measurement systems and carbon footprint reduction plans.

But, to be realistic, do the established parameters really apply to all types of film productions in independent cinema? Do we want to be sustainable while also checking off the boxes imposed on us? What are the key factors for implementing a sustainability plan in independent film production? How do we identify the main environmental impacts?

This workshop aimed at independent film production professionals, provides a practical approach to understanding the environmental impacts of audiovisual production and establishing strategies to reduce the carbon footprint. Through theoretical presentations and practical exercises based on real cases, participants will learn to identify critical areas, implement sustainable measures and integrate sustainability into the management of production teams.

The goal is to equip participants with the necessary skills to assess environmental impacts and develop and implement sustainability plans in a practical manner, tailored to the specific needs of independent filmmaking.

This workshop is aimed at professionals with experience in Executive Production or Production Management departments for independent films who are interested in honing their skills as Green Managers.
