Al borde del agua

Official

Synopsis

Al borde del agua is the work of Iñigo Salaberria and Maria Elorza. It opens begins with the sentence “Between 1984 and 1988, Iñigo Salaberria roamed several locations with his compact Super 8 camera. Those test-footage reels were never edited and have remained in the shadows for thirty-three years”. We then get to see the footage in question: reflections on the water that turn figures into shapes, colours and textures; whalers; a lake with clouds of smoke and water vapour; buildings that become turn into vertical lines; more reflections on water, accompanied by the sound of water itself, and occasionally by classical music. “There are some images that don’t exist. And there are others that exist twice. None of these places exists any more.”
