Since 2015 the Cinema en curs programme has run the Views of the World initiative in its workshops: inspired by filmmakers such as David Perlov, Chantal Akerman, James Benning, José Luis Guerin and Mati Diop, young people share views of their immediate surroundings as their first foray into cinema and tentative first steps at expressing their place in it.
For the past four editions, International Views of the World Day has been celebrated on a day in November from dawn to the middle of the night . Budding young filmmakers, teachers and experienced directors share cinema from towns and cities in Catalonia, the Basque Country, Galicia, Madrid, Valencia, Slovenia, Lithuania, Serbia, Colombia, Chile, Mexico and Peru, among many others.
