Arriba es abajo

Synopsis

Arriba es abajo is an attempt to stich together an ostensibly unconnected chaos hanging from a nonlinear structure combining ideas on how bodies and land are organised. Children’s voices and images are intertwined with sequences of drawings and pictures of the Ebro Delta. Hands stitch this structure together to forge ties between drawings, words, bodies, hand games, children, water and lines that interfere with the landscape, thus drawing a map of this spatiotemporal perception of the world.

Biography and Films

Mariona Domènech (Barcelona, 1998) studied at ESCAC Film School and graduated in 2023 after specialising in documentary and nonfiction. Her others interests include painting, drawing and collage. She uses a range of hands-on techniques to explore and experiment with new possibilities. She is in a state of constant flux, never anchored to any one thing, but always seeking out different ways to express her unbridled emotions.
