Los nadadores

Synopsis

Loosely based on Ed Ruscha’s photography book Nine Swimming Pools and a Broken Glass, this film essay plunges into pools: our ideas about them and what they signify in our culture and collective memory. A playful exploration that dives into issues of class, labour, leisure, sex and tragedy.

Biography and Films

Charlie López (San José, Costa Rica, 1999) is a 23-year-old Costa Rican filmmaker and editor. He is currently in the process of graduating from the Film School at the Universidad Véritas in San José, Costa Rica. Los nadadores is his first short film outside an academic setting.
