El Eco

Synopsis

In El Eco, a remote village in northern Mexico, life revolves around the bare essentials of life. Being a child here is an intense experience shaped by nature, animals and people from the very start, together with love, intimacy, illness and death. And education, at least for the new generations.

If Tatiana Huezo’s previous films probed wounds, here she explores ideas of caring for the land, parenting and the wonder with which children see the world. El Eco is a place, but also a learning experience. A story about feeling dizzy in the face of life, about growing up in the rural world.
