Synopsis

Hamburg, 1945: a young German woman and a gaunt foreigner meet in secret. 2022: a family investigates and speculates about a love letter discovered in the family home. Meanwhile, sparrows flutter around the city.

Biography and Films

Maria Elorza has a degree in audiovisual communication from Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona and a master's degree in artistic creation and research from EHU/UPV. Since 2013 she has directed several short films. Her work has been screened to great acclaim at leading festivals worldwide. In 2022 she wrote and directed her debut feature, A los libros y a las mujeres canto, which won the DOCMA Prize and earned a Special Mention from the jury for the Spanish Film Prize at l’Alternativa 2022.
