Synopsis
From the first very camera to the 45 billion devices in people’s hands today. A collage film through the history of moving images. Filmmakers Axel Danielson and Maximilien Van Aertryck take a sideswipe at humanity's obsession with the camera image and the social consequences coming down the line.
Biography and Films
Axel Danielson (Vittskövle, Sweden, 1976) studied film at the Valand Academy in Gothenburg and in 2013 joined the Swedish production company Plattform Produktion, where he works closely with Maximilien Van Aertryck (Paris, 1989). Several of the duo’s short films have premiered at leading festivals such as Cannes, Toronto, Aspen and Sundance. Their film Hopptornet (2016) played at the 2016 Berlinale Shorts and won over 30 international awards, as well as being shortlisted for an Oscar and nominated for an Emmy Award. And the King Said, What a Fantastic Machine is their debut feature. Plattform Produktion also produced the 2022 Palme d’Or winner Triangle of Sadness.
