Mangos

Synopsis

A small village in northern Mexico endures a three-month deluge that leaves them isolated on their newly formed island. A drug cartel has taken over the surrounding waters, preventing the villagers from escaping. While the islanders find new ways to survive, a blossoming love story creates freedom in confinement.

Biography and Films

Ben Guez (Leningrad, 1983) is a cinematographer, colourist, bicycle mechanic and translator. His first documentary feature, Quicksilver Chronicles, premiered at Visions du Réel in 2019, before being screened at festivals worldwide, winning prizes along the way and also appearing on broadcast networks. He has lived in Barcelona since 2020.
