La melancolía humana

Synopsis

In a future where digital technologies have become exclusive, a pig is born, grows and dies. Mario then turns it into ham, which is later consumed by two sisters from a small French community in eastern of Colombia.

This production chain reveals the different social classes that inhabit this society and how they will soon be overthrown.

Biography and Films

Jorge Olaya Ruiz (Bogotá, 1992) is a Colombian director, producer and screenwriter. He studied philology and languages, focusing on French at the National University of Colombia. He later graduated in film from the University of Paris 8. In 2022 he set up Duelle Films S.A.S. and produced and directed the feature 3 Jornadas de seducción, currently in postproduction. La melancolía humana is his second film.
