Synopsis

After a traffic accident, Delfina Carlota discovered a hidden watercourse around the corner from her house. This discovery soon becomes an obsession and she embarks on an urban journey to track the course of the Medrano culvert in the north of the city of Buenos Aires. Following signs of water, she sets off to explore, collecting bits of maps, archive materials and sound samples along the way. She also unearths discovers hidden stories, such as Maldonado, a woman who fled the Buenos Aires fortress during the conquest, or Operation Gaviota, a failed coup against dictator Videla led by the ERP.

Biography and Films

Delfina Carlota Vazquez is a photographer, filmmaker and artivist. She directed the documentary short Puede una montaña recordar, produced by Antes Muerto Cine and winner of the 2021 É Tudo Verdade international short film competition. Her upcoming film Invisible Stream took part in the Vórtice 5 artistic residence  in Chile, LAB#07 Novos cinemas in Spain and ABC Bafici in Argentina. Her work explores the relationship between nature and memory through documentary and carefully crafted experimentation.
