High Roads

Synopsis

High Roads is a journey through overlapping narrations concerning the paradoxical conditions of the search for wellbeing in Occupied Palestine by opening up dialogues with particle physicist Dr Wafaa Khater, Olympian swimmer Sabine Hazboun, marathon-runner Diala Isid and yoga instructor Eilda Zaghmout: four women who generate wellbeing and wonder in defiance of a relentless oppression, using their bodies, breaths and minds as tools for everyday resistance to military occupation.

Biography and Films

Toronto-born Giuliana Racco is now based in the Mediterranean. She has worked through the Near and Far East, North and South America and Europe, teaching in universities and experimental programmes. Her video, photography, installations and drawings have been featured in international museums and foundations. She is currently a PhD candidate studying border aesthetics at York University, Toronto.
