Irene Baqué is a documentary director who works between Barcelona and London. Her films explore ideas of identity, social issues and political struggles with women always sharply in focus. She worked for six years making documentary shorts on gender issues for The Guardian, which was the subject of a retrospective at the 2018 Sheffield DocFest. She won Best Short Prize at the One World Media Awards (2015) for a film about abortion in El Salvador.
