Saúl Kak, Charles Fairbanks
Synopsis
A sensory ethnographic study on culture and communication in a Zoque community in Chiapas, Mexico, whose town was destroyed by a volcanic eruption.
Bio/Filmo
Saúl Kak (Mexico, 1985) is an acclaimed painter and native speaker of Zoque. He directs the art residency programme at Galería MUY, a contemporary art centre for indigenous art and artists.
Charles Fairbanks (USA, 1979) is a filmmaker, writer and Guggenheim Fellow whose films have been screened at many festivals.
Their film The Modern Jungle (2016) won a Documentary Feature Honorable Mention at Slamdance Film Festival.
