Parallel Activities

Parallel Activities

This is l'Alternativa's space for different educational activities, a key side to filmmaking. Training, complementary and specialist activities aim to offer ongoing training to students, professionals and filmlovers.

We are also keen to promote debate and cultural exchange between professionals and filmgoers. Roundtables, seminars, talks and masterclasses offer a thought-provoking space for debate.

In addition to roundtables, talks, exhibitions, masterclasses and workshops, we have welcomed key figures from the academic world and leading filmmakers, such as Humberto Solás, Andres Veiel, Basilio M Patino, Corneliu Poromboiu, Isaki Lacuesta, Lluís Miñarro and Paul Bush.

We also organise a music seminar, Listening to Films, geared towards professionals and students keen to find out more about creative methods in music in the audiovisual world. Over the years, several acclaimed national and international composers have shared their expertise with us and this year we shall be joined by Pascal Gaigne.

Our goal is to offer activities to meet the needs of professionals, filmgoers and the industry alike.

You can now find information on all the Parallel Activities at l'Alternativa 2010 on the website: the music seminar Listening to Films with Pascal Gaigne; the masterclass Feastings: Festivals – Critics with Lluís Miñarro; the roundtable Mexican Cinema: Achievements and Contradictions with Arturo Ripstein and Ricardo Benet; as well as Small Experiments, a new space at the Festival for children.
