Opening shindig with the Boozan Dukes!
The Boozan Dukes are a sextet who began roaming the streets of Barcelona in 2016 inspired by the Creole music of 1920s and 1940s New Orleans.
The band soon forged their unique identity around Paul Sessions’ instantly recognisable voice, together with his trumpet and his swing, calipso, voodoo blues and stomp arrangements. Throw in the added colour of sax and trombone, Dobro guitar fingerpicking, insistent washboard rhythms and the warm embrace of the sousaphone and you’ve got the impressive final line-up.
They have played in countless spaces and events, including theatres, swing festivals, circuses, street art performances, private dos, civic centres and schools throughout Spain and Europe.
