Over the course of this two-day workshop, Pau Subirós will work on four selected projects, focusing on concept, structure, narrative development and cinematic style. Participants will interact to ensure filmmakers acquire a deeper comprehension of their projects and can draw up a work plan for future development.
Pau Subirós studied philosophy at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and later did a master's degree in cinematography at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra. In 2005 he began working in the audiovisual sector, first as a sound technician, then as a producer and screenwriter and finally as a director.
He recently directed the documentaries La cláusula Balcells (2019) and Jorge Herralde, anagrama de un editor (2019) and wrote the screenplays for Neus Ballús’s feature films El viaje de Marta (Staff Only) (2019) and La plaga (2013), which both premiered at the Berlinale before going on to win worldwide acclaim. He has received a number of awards for his work, including two Gaudí Awards (Best Script and Best Film) for La plaga.
In 2015 Anagrama published his narrative essay about the world of independent cinema El productor accidental. El código interior (2020) is his first short fiction film.
