International Feature Film Prize in l’Alternativa Official

International Feature Film Prize in l’Alternativa Official

The jury for International Feature Films in l’Alternativa Official at the 28th edition of the Barcelona Independent Film Festival, l’Alternativa, made up of Manuel Muñoz, Laura Herrero and Pablo García de Lara, met on 19 November 2021 and agreed unanimously to award the International Feature Film Prize jointly to Esquirlas, by Natalia Garayalde (Argentina),

The film’s rich narrative interweaves notions of public and private, personal and political, into a delicate, constantly maturing tapestry. It also reveals the director’s evolution as a filmmaker, beginning with a young girl’s first amateur recordings of an event that would transform both the world around her and the way she would look at it ever after.

And to Dark Light Voyage, by Tin Dirdamal and Eva Cadena (Mexico, Vietnam).

A powerfully hypnotic sensory journey that offers a poetic insight both inside and out as it explores the world and the emotions that bind us together. This uncharted voyage by father and daughter invites us to love without passing judgement.
