Learn All about Stop-Motion with Kati Egely

Calling all stop-motion fans! In this workshop you can learn all about this fun technique and try out some of your ideas with animator and film designer Kati Egely, who has made an impressive number of short animated films of her own, including El mago Georges, which you can catch at this year’s festival.

You’ll get firsthand, hands-on experience of how she made her latest films and learn all the tricks of the trade, such cut-out and pixillation. In just one morning, you’ll be able to put your new skills into practice and make your own animated film.

Kati Egely graduated in animation from the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design in Budapest and studied documentary filmmaking at the Instituto de Arte Cinematográfico de Avellaneda in Buenos Aires.

Her work combines animation techniques such as stop-motion and cut-out to boldly go beyond the camera and discover whole new worlds full of spine-tingling sensations.

Her short films, including Tierra sin mal (2017), Euphoria (2018), El mago Georges (2020) and Si viene de la Tierra (2021), have won plaudits and awards at festivals all over the world and she shows no sign of stopping any time soon.
