Parallel Sections

Carlos Gorriarena was one of the rawest and most scathing Argentinean painters of recent times, although he always refused to be pigeonholed as a political painter. The film opens when the artist and his work go separate ways for ever. Gorri’s work is a source of interest and concern both to those who have to protect it, organise it and show it, and to those who want to observe it, interpret it or appropriate it.
