Film Schools of the World

Films schools play a major role in training current and future audiovisual professionals and broadening their experience. They will decide how the next films will be made. At l'Alternativa we believe that by screening their work we can help them obtain the recognition they deserve.

This year we are focusing on documentaries and screening the work of two film schools with close ties to the festival. The Master's Course in Creative Documentary at the UAB (Catalonia) and the AALTO UNIVERSITY School of Art and Design ELO Helsinki Film School (Finland) will be the subjects of two dedicated sections featuring leading films from their output over the years.

This year's increased activities are conscientious, free-spirited and innovative. Students at the schools will not only speak and share their experiences with us, but also use their technological skills to bring new, exciting sensations to the opening and closing nights of the Festival.
