The director boards a RER B train crossing Paris from north to south and trains her camera on the city's changing districts as she passes through its outskirts. With not a tired cliché or easy answer in sight, Alice Diop brings us real-life faces and stories and shows the importance of filmmaking as a means of bearing witness.
