Family Workshop: Let’s Make a Movie with Bombeto

Dreaming like Lotte

How do you like the idea of spending a weekend with other children and parents at a workshop to make a short animated film? At this engaging workshop, you can become animated characters and star in your own crazy dream by mixing up different stop-motion styles. We’ll use 2D cut-out techniques, light boxes and shadow play to create films in the style of Lotte Reiniger, who made the very first animated feature films.

Target: children and adults who like letting their imagination run wild! They’ll work with other participants in this fantastic experiment to create a short animated film for future cinemagoers to enjoy.

Bombeto loves making animated films because you never know how they’re going to turn out. No two are ever the same: it all depends on what animators throw into the mix. And the second-best thing to making animated films is showing other people how to make them. That way everyone can get involved! Wherever Bombeto goes, Glòria (a primary teacher) and Quim (a stop-motion animator and animation teacher) are never far behind. All three are keen travellers and never know where they’re going next: you might see them in a large city or a small town, at your school, a fair, a museum… Together they’ve already have run over 500 workshops and are dying to know how their activity at this year’s l’Alternativa will turn out!
