Every day hundreds of women give birth in the maternity wards in public hospitals in Bogotá. Each birth reveals more of the social jigsaw made up of many individual stories. Waiting, accomplishing, wanting, defending, accepting and resisting - raw emotions that come to the fore in this sharp portrait of hospital births that reflects a key part of life in a country.

Jorge Caballero (Bogotá, 1979) is a self-taught filmmaker, producer and editor. He set up the Barcelona- and Bogotá-based production company GusanoFilms and is postproduction coordinator of the master's in documentary filmmaking at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. His films include Bagatela (2008), screened in competition at l'Alternativa 2009.
