Don Alfonso plays the marimba, a traditional instrument that resembles a large xylophone. Blacko is a pioneer of the Guatemalan heavy metal scene, and also a doctor, but nobody wants to be treated by him because of his long hair and tattoos. Circumstance brings Don Alfonso and Blacko together and they decide to combine their talents to form a band, where tradition and heavy metal finally meet.

Julio Hernández Cordón (North Carolina, 1975) studied at the Rafael Landívar University in Guatemala and the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica in Mexico City. His first feature film, Gasolina (2008), won the Horizons Award for Best Latin American feature at San Sebastián.
