In Kashmir, where each day is another lesson in survival, a teenage petty criminal’s last chance at escape is threatened when he faces a moral crisis over his latest victim. Zero Bridge is an audacious portrait of daily life in Kashmir. It was filmed entirely on location in Srinagar, with a strictly local cast of non-professional actors performing in their native Kashmiri language and with a technical crew of one: the director.
Tariq Tapa (New York City) enrolled in the Graduate Film Directing Program at the California Institute of the Arts, where he made several short films, including Custody (2005). In 2006 he received a US Fulbright Scholarship to Kashmir where he made his debut feature film, Zero Bridge.
