Synopsis
Photographed and filmed over a period of ten years, Bittersweet focuses on the filmmaker's mother—diagnosed with acute paranoid schizophrenia—and her dog, Elsa. A search for meaning and closure, and a means of questioning and discovering the banalities of everyday life.
Bio/Filmo
Sohrab Hura (Hugli-Chuchura, 1981) is a photographer based in New Delhi. The Coast, part of the self-published trilogy Sweet Life, won Photobook of the Year at Paris Photo in 2019. His work has been shown in solo exhibitions in London and Kolkata. His short films inlcude Pati (2010) and The Lost Head & the Bird (2017). He is a member of Magnum Photos.
