Solitary, enigmatic Cosme Peñate lives on the beach in Puerto Colombia and spends his day fetching corpses out of the sea so he can return them to their families. Hellens comes down from the mountains to meet Cosme in search of a relative who disappeared during the Colombian civil war. The unstoppable currents of the deep decide the fate of the human bodies the armed conflict leaves behind.


Homer Etminani (Iran, 1974) emigrated to Spain in 1987 and studied film and philosophy in Barcelona. He currently lives in Colombia and directs an art programme at the Universidad del Atlántico, en Barranquilla. His first film, Nació, was screened at IDFA and l'Alternativa 2012. Inmortal is his second feature.
