Sinopsis:

By reconstructing documented, true events and featuring many of the actual victims as actors, this film dramatically chronicles the terrible 1967 Midsummer Night massacre, carried out to prevent a gathering of labourers, miners, factory workers and students who had arranged to meet to finalise details of their support for Che Guevara and his followers, who were fighting in the jungles of Ñancahuazú.

However, in this film the director not only tells this important story, but also plays a part in creating a film narrative to express the culture of his country. Eminent French film critic Guy Hennebelle selected El coraje del pueblo as one of the fifteen most beautiful films in the world of all time. It is regarded internationally as a pioneering work that introduced the true protagonists of the story as actors reliving their own dramatic experiences
