Forging Ties with Young Filmgoers

For several years now, the Film Schools section of l’Alternativa, Cinema en curs and Moving Cinema have been working in tandem to forge closer ties between the festival and young people. Thanks to Cinema en curs and Moving Cinema, we have been able to set up projects to encourage young people to discover and analyse a range of different styles of filmmaking and then write texts and give public presentations about the films they have watched

Young Programmers

After watching a selection of films to be screened at this year’s festival, the Moving Cinema Young Programmers 2025-2026 picked the film La Limace et l’Escargot, which they will present in dialogue with the director, Anne Benhaïem.

The group is made up of Tadeo Acin Mendizabal, Víctor Alonso Garcia, Aroa del Amo Escolano, Flora Bosch Capdeferro, Fabiana Sofía Cabello Rojas, Teo Camacho Guisado, Martina Castelló Caus, Lola Celma, Claudia Domingo, Pablo Fontrodona, Elena Morales Romero, Joel Rovira Twose, Claudia Sagués Vega, Mariona Sans Sebastià and Àlex Vitó Caro, with the support of Miquel Escudero Diéguez and Marina Miyar (A Bao A Qu).

The initiative takes place within the framework of the European project Moving Cinema, led by the association A Bao A Qu.

FILM SCHOOLS

RUIDO

Lati found refuge in rap after her father’s death and, two years later, dreams of succeeding in the world of freestyle battles. After the screening of Ruido, the director, Ingride Santos, and the lead actress, rapper Latifa Drame, will share insights into the creative process and talk with the audience about the choices that ultimately shaped the film.

AS AVENTURAS DO ANGOSAT

As Aventuras do Angosat is a short film that blends music, poetry and science fiction to explore dreams, identity and inclusion. Shot in Luanda (Angola), with artists of diverse abilities, it is a celebration of cinema’s transformative power as a space for collective encounter. After the screening, the audience will have the chance to talk with the directors and the protagonist to discover how the film was conceived and brought to life.

IT’S NOT A STORY... UNTIL IT IS

With filmmaker Guillermo Benet we will explore not only the final result (the completed films) but also the hidden fabric that sustains them: the notes, references and scattered thoughts that usually remain on the sidelines. In revisiting them together, clues emerge that speak of an identity in motion: who we have been, who we are and who we may become through creation.

Young Audiences

In collaboration with A Bao A Qu, within the framework of the Moving Cinema project and Cinema en curs, we coax and cajole secondary and baccalaureate students to attend some of the screenings at this year's festival.
