La Fàbrica de Cinema Alternatiu is a nonprofit association that aims to promote, screen and spread the word about independent films from Spain and overseas. It seeks out innovative, creative and committed films and audiovisual pieces that often struggle to find an outlet.
La Fàbrica also helps set up thought-provoking spaces where film professionals can get together and discuss key issues, as well as offering education and training opportunities in different areas of filmmaking.
It currently organises three projects: the Barcelona Independent Film Festival, l'Alternativa; Exchanges with other festivals; and l'Alternativa Takes a Trip, a project on the move made up of a selection of films from past editions of the Festival.
