Fancy working as a volunteer at this year’s festival?

While we piece together the 32nd edition of l’Alternativa, we are calling for volunteers to work at the very heart and soul of the festival.

We are looking for enthusiastic film fans with excellent communication skills who are eager to get a unique insight into the workings of a living, breathing film festival and rub shoulders with some of the leading lights in the film industry.

The team’s main purpose is to offer expert help and assistance to festivalgoers, guests, members of the festival jury and industry professionals and ensure that their experience goes as smoothly as possible.

Tasks and Placements

• Entrance to screenings
  Attend to members of the public and guests before, during and after screenings and activities. Check tickets, ensure reserved seats are correctly occupied and restrict access once screenings have started.
• Accreditation
  Attend to accredited industry professionals and guests.
• Information and assistance
  Offer information and assistance to members of the public at various information stands.
• Activities
  Attend to participants at masterclasses, workshops and professional activities.
• Box office
  Sell tickets, provide general information, deal with queries and take a firm hand to disorderly queues.
• Press
  Offer assistance to the press team, attend to journalists and photographers, provide information and material to the media and manage press passes.
• Social networks
  Craft eye-catching copy, shoot and edit professional-style videos and tailor content to each platform and target audience.
