Esperanza Collado
Almost a century after the first sound films began to experiment with the expressive possibilities and communicative power of music and voices, l’Alternativa Hall has created this space for experimental pieces eager to question ideas of what we consider to be visible, audible or sayable.
Esperanza Collado invites us to explore the universe of Val del Omar “through colour, shapes, intervals, resonances and stirring sympathies until the moment of conversion and fusion”.
The harmonic sounds, noises, soundscapes, textures and atmospheres of Enrique del Castillo’s Umbráfono will ring out from celluloid film traversed and transformed by beams of light.
Iván Torres Hdez and Xoán-Xil López will take us on a voyage through the Arctic on board the Finnish icebreaker Urho, to the eerie sound of creaking, cracking ice.
And we are invited to join Valentina Alvarado on a stroll through a fragmented personal account combining image, text and sound as she reflects on how memories of the landscape shift back and forth.
