Synopsis

In the depths of a caldera, telluric sounds echo the cosmic dimension of the landscape. Moving faces and bodies captured in images reveal the anthropology of a mythical space and its conquest.

Biography and Films

Fernando Alcántara wrote and directed the shorts Caballo de mar and Océano, which received a Special Mention from the jury at the Las Palmas Film Festival. He also wrote and edited Un volcán habitado, which premiered at Visions du Réel, was screened at l’Alternativa 2023 and won Best Film in the Escáner section of Márgenes Festival. He has edited a number of films by Canarian filmmakers such as David Pantaleón and Rafael Navarro Miñón that have been screened at leading international film festivals in Rotterdam, Valladolid, Busan and Málaga, among others.
