Synopsis

The language in which lullabies were sung to me can kill. The lullabies fall silent. An inner monologue between two languages and identities. Between the black and white of the L’Alpine pinscreen.

Biography and Films

Irina Rubina is an animation director, producer and animator based in Germany. With her company iraru.films she makes and produces short films and music videos, as well as hybrid and collaborative projects that explore the borderland between animation, film, stage performances, music and dance. Her films have been screened and won awards at a number of international film festivals. She also works as a mentor, lecturer and curator at various institutions. Since 2021 she has been a board member at ASIFA Germany.
