Hall Calls for Short Shorts

Polyphonic Landscape

Once again we’re opening our call for short shorts! This year l’Alternativa Hall is embarking on a journey into rich soundscapes, in preparation for further adventures in sound in the autumn.

Immersed in this polyphonic landscape, we urge you to subvert the traditional order of images and sounds and rethink the relationship between visual and audio in terms of the performativity of bodies.

Your 1 min shorts should serve as brief audiovisual pieces exploring the soundscapes of bodies, including their musicality, onomatopoeias, voices, listening capabilities and the endless audible registers that inhabit it.

A gaze and listening exercise, an endeavour to twist the usual ties between seeing, hearing and saying by exploring lost or forgotten sounds or producing new oralities touching on the idea of the polyphonic body that will bestride the Hall this year.

We'll make a playlist out of the short shorts that catch our eye from all the entries received to screen on our YouTube channel and in the Hall at the CCCB during the festival.
