Mujeres de tierra

Synopsis

In 1950s rural Spain, hunger still stalks the land. When young peasant, wife and mother of five Petra becomes pregnant once again, she decides to break the cycle and have an abortion.

Bio/Filmo

Marta Herrero Silvestre (Barcelona) won a short film screenplay contest in 2012 and cowrote Marc Bou’s short La pasión se lleva por dentro, for which she won an award at Curts Ficcions 2013. She also penned Silvia Cachafeiro’s short Dans le noir (2018) and Gemma Blasco’s short Nit de festa, as well as writing and creating the mindfulness app Mi momento. Her screenplay for the short Un billete para el recuerdo was a finalist at NIFF 2021.
