Synopsis

Iván and Elena (Pol López and Vicky Luengo) inherit a farmhouse while expecting their first child. They decide to start afresh, restore the house and earn a living by harvesting the cork from the trees on their property. However, as outsider landowners they struggle to win acceptance and are faced with rising tensions between local cork peelers and immigrant workers. They will soon have to decide what has to change: their environment or themselves.
In his debut feature, Mikel Gurrea captures the internal conflicts of couple who embody an entire generation: a young family striving to live the dream of a fair, sustainable and tolerant rural life where nothing turns out as expected.
