Synopsis

An autobiographical documentary based on the correspondence of two Cuban filmmakers. Childhood friends Patricia and Heidi have been separated for 15 years since they emigrated to Europe. By recalling memories of their home country and sharing experiences of their current life abroad, they try to reconnect through filmmaking. A media voz is an emotional and intimate journey and meditation on friendship, motherhood and borders. Their story reflects the challenges, roots and journeys of an entire generation.

Bio/Filmo

Heidi Hassan (Cuba, 1978) graduated in cinematography from the EICTV in San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba, in 2002, before going on to take a diploma at the Haute école d'art et de design in Geneva. In addition to her work as a director, she also collaborates on a range of projects as a cinematographer. 
Patricia Pérez (Cuba, 1978) graduated in directing actors from the Universidad de las Artes in Havana in 2000 and qualified as a filmmaker at the EICTV. She has lived and worked in Spain since 2003 and written and directed several creative documentaries.
