Bonnie and Clyde

Arthur Penn

Bonnie and Clyde (Arthur Penn)
L'Alternativa Parallel / She Cuts / Bonnie and Clyde

Synopsis

Considered a milestone in the history of American film, strongly influenced by the French New Wave, Bonnie and Clyde was one of the definitive films of the 1960s and is hailed as reinventing Hollywood. With different moods and shifts in tone, it is at turns a gangster film, a tragic-romantic buddy flick, a road movie and a screwball comedy.
Edited by Dede Allen (1923–2010), renowned as the editor who revolutionised imagery, sound and pace in North American film. She worked with Robert Wise, Elia Kazan, Sidney Lumet and Robert Redford, among others.
“I knew my craft well. I knew my tools. I knew the rules. I liked to try a lot of things. I was never afraid of breaking the rules. Cut from the gut.” (Dede Allen)
