Synopsis
Carme works in a bakery in a Galician mountain village. At home, she barely talks to her father, Ramón. She desperately wants to escape from this oppressive atmosphere, but circumstances always stop her from breaking free. From trotting. From running away. As the village prepares for the Rapa das bestas, the annual wild-horse shearing ritual, Carme’s elder brother, Luis, comes home for a few days with his wife. Trote symbolises the struggle between man and beast, between reason and instinct.
Bio/Filmo
Xacio Baño (Lugo, 1983) studied film at the University of León. He has produced and directed several shorts, including Ser e voltar (2014), which won a Special Mention at l'Alternativa, and Eco (2015). Trote is his debut feature film.
