A university lecturer teaches his mostly female students about the figure of the muse in ancient texts and puts forward his belief that contemporary muses could help set the world to rights through poetry. This line of thinking—none too popular with his wife—triggers a series of reflections on language and desire.
José Luis Guerin (Barcelona, 1960) made his first feature film, Los motivos de Berta, in 1983. His film Innisfree (1990) was screened at Cannes, En construcción (2001) won the Goya Award for Best Documentary and In the City of Sylvia (2007) was selected for Venice. In 2010 his documentary Guest was screened at Venice. In 2011 he codirected Correspondencia Jonas Mekas - J.L. Guerin with Jonas Mekas and made Memories of a Morning.
