Anas Zaghlul, onetime Palestinian swimming champion, lives in the proud city of Nablus. Years ago, in the dead of night, Anas tripped over a woman's severed head and has since teetered on the edge of madness. Nevertheless, he tries to lead a normal life and stay sane in the face of everything. At times, the melodies and words of Umm Kulthum, the queen of Arab song, give him a reason to live.
