Soundtrack Masterclass 2006

 

Listening to Films - Patrick DoyleComposing for the audiovisual world is both a huge challenge and a great professional opportunity for composers. It calls for knowledge and expertise that go beyond the realm of the merely musical. The Soundtrack Masterclass aims to offer some key pointers to take on this specialist kind of creation. The class will be given by writer and soundtrack specialist Conrado Xalabarder together with Patrick Doyle, acclaimed British composer of the soundtracks to Frankenstein, Sense and Sensibility, Much Ado about Nothing, Hamlet and the latest Harry Potter instalment, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

The programme will include discussion of the following films:

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Mike Newell
Henry V. Kenneth Branagh
Carlito's Way. Brian de Palma
Indochine. Regis Wargnier
