Demà dimarts, a l’auditori del CCCB, comencen els tallers dirigits a joves creadors i estudiants de cinema. Una oportunitat única per aprendre més sobre la complexitat i secrets de la creació cinematogràfica. 

Totes les activitats són gratuïtes

Tan diferentes como los artistas y cineastas son sus motivaciones para empezar un proyecto de cortometraje. Hay un tema, se tiene una idea, se hace realidad invirtiendo muchos esfuerzos, se pule, se recorta, se mejora, hasta que el cortometraje se termina a veces después de mucho tiempo.Y puede que uno esté satisfecho con su trabajo, en el mejor de los casos realmente orgulloso de él. Hasta aquí, todo va bien.

Si luego seleccionan el corto en uno de los muchos festivales, de pronto hay un público. Es una oportunidad increíble, sobre todo en un festival independiente como éste: ¡habrá más gente que vea tu cinta! Y el público naturalmente tiene expectativas: en primera instancia, quizá quiera pasar una tarde agradable y que lo entretengan, más allá de eso quizá llevarse a casa nuevas impresiones, algo que analizar.

Pero seamos francos. Estoy cansada de pasatiempos estéticos y de historias bonitas que sirven para entretener. Quien sólo pretenda pasar el rato, ¡que haga zapeo en la tele!
 En un festival quiero ver cortometrajes que me toquen la fibra.

Western Spaghetti by PES is one of the 43 short films in competition at l’Alternativa. The section includes 6 programmes composed of fiction, documentary, animation and experimental films from around the world. Most of the films will be shown for the first time in Barcelona and were selected from the 1297 short films we received.

The programme includes first films (Sam’s Hot Dog, Con el viento), as well as new work by returning filmmakers (Jay Rosenblatt, Vuk Jevremovic, Elías León Siminiani, Ana Husman, Florence Maialhe, Nicolás Pereda, Mashaallah Mohammadi, Signe Baumane, Marian Crisan). There are also a number of award-winning shorts in the selection, including Elefantenhaut which won a jury prize at Oberhausen; Ghost, best film at Tampere; Le feu, le sang, les étoiles, short fiction prize at Zinebi; Lost World, short film award at Hamburg; Megatron, the Palme d’or at Cannes; Cold Grove, Hungarian short film award; Jade, the silver bear at the Berlinale; Photograph of Jesus, best animated film at Tampere, and Western Spaghetti at Sundance. The 6 short film programmes at l’Alternativa screen from Saturday 14th to Thursday 19th November 2009.
