en La Enana Marrón en marzo. Oportunidad excepcional de ver un cine internacional inédito en las pantallas
españolas.  El ciclo incluye 3 sesiones de cortometrajes, el documental Bagatela de Jorge Caballero,
y los largometrajes Perpetuum mobile de Nicolás Pereda y She Unfolds By Day de Rolf Belgum.

Semih Kaplanoglu

balBal (Honey), Semih Kaplanoglu’s new film, has won the Golden Bear at the Berlinale. Two of his earlier feature films have previously screened at l’Alternativa. Yamurta (Egg) in 2008, and Melegin Duçuçu (Angel’s Fall), which won the feature film prize at l’Alternativa in 2005.

El cicle De prop de La Pedrera de Caixa Catalunya torna amb una nova proposta on diferents creadors audiovisuals emergents entren en confluència amb bandes musicals.

Laboratorium, col.laboradors de l’Alternativa, estrenen el migmetratge Les ales del dimoni; film impressionista realitzat per acompanyar la música del grup Balago.

Naomi Uman at Light Industry

ukrainian time machineNaomi Uman, whose Unnamed Film was shown in competition at l’Alternativa last year, presents selections from The Ukrainian Time Machine at Light Industry in New York. The screening includes shorts from her ongoing project of observing and coming to understand life in Legedzine (Ukraine). A series of 16mm films that continue to explore the hand-made, intimately subjective mode seen in her earlier works. Light Industry is a new venue for film and electronic art in Brooklyn.

Voices from the waters

voices from the waterBangalore Film Society invites filmmakers to send films for the 2010 edition of Voices from the Waters 5th International Film Festival on Water. The festival screens short, documentary, animation and feature films on water and related issues. Voices from the Waters is conceived as a travelling film festival. The selected films, after being premiered in Bangalore, will be presented in small towns and villages across India.

perpetuum mobileThe film cycle selected from l’Alternativa’s 2009 edition continues into February at the Madrid based cinema La Enana Marrón. The February programme includes the feature films Perpetuum Mobile (Nicolas Pereda); She Unfolds by Day (Rolf Belgum); Unnamed Film (Naomi Uman) and Bagatela (Jorge Caballero), as well as the 4 shorts programmes which kicked off the season in January.
