L'Alternativa is deeply honoured to invite Rosa Cerarols—who not only holds a PhD in Geography and an MA in Visual Anthropology, but also lectures in geohumanities and is a curator and cofounder of Konvent, a multidisciplinary space for cultural programmes and artistic residencies—to give a very special presentation of the film Apple Cider Vinegar, by Sofie Benoot.
What exactly might a film called Apple Cider Vinegar be about when vinegar makes only a fleeting appearance? Well, how about threading together ostensibly disconnected ideas to assemble a cabinet of curiosities reflecting the complex collection of Earth’s memories? This is the autofictional pretext that ends up linking nothing with everything: stones, rocks, ourselves and magma of life. So, to approach this film without actually discussing it, we will meet a universe of characters on the world stage, material mythologies and landscapes of life as we ponder an ecological shift in the human narrative on a planetary timescale.
