Glazing

Synopsis

An animation of the female nude, embodying all of her forms throughout the history of art. Her body twists and gnarls itself into these static poses, but she cannot be contained. In perpetual motion, she is released from her form and allowed to finally stare back at us.

Bio/Filmo

Lilli Carré is an interdisciplinary artist currently based in Los Angeles, working in experimental animation, ceramics, print and textile. Her films have been screened at festivals throughout the US and abroad. She has created comics and illustrations for The New Yorker, The New York Times and Best American Comics and published several books of comics with Fantagraphics. She currently teaches in the Experimental Animation Department at CalArts, California.
